I have been so busy with school, work, and trying to have a social life this summer lol. I wanted to check in and update on my hair. It isn’t a huge update yet because I still have my sew in installed. I got it re-done at the end of July so I don’t have a length check. That will come sometime next month. In the meantime I’ve gathered some photos I took of my sew in from when I first got it done to when I got my ombre’.

So, I came across this article earlier http://blackgirllonghair.com/2013/07/opinion-a-weave-is-not-a-protective-style-its-just-a-weave/
and it basically states that weaves can’t be considered a protective style. I disagree. Whether a person’s hair is natural or relaxed any style that gives their hair a break from heat, chemicals, and other elements is a protective style. Braids and twists are among this category also. Your natural hair is braided as a base for the weave anyway so why is it not a protective style? There is much evidence online that when the hair is cared for underneath these protective styles that it results in amazing growth. The author states

If you all cannot find my comment section… If you click the link that says “0 comments” it brings you right to the comment box. :) anyway.. I am going to answer a question that was asked by one of my followers regarding my Brazilian hair. I got it from samegirldifferenthair.com It is run by fashion blogger Mia Ray and the hair is great. This is the second time I have purchased from the company and the shipping is reasonably priced and fast :) I have seen some companies that charge 15 dollars for shipping after you just shelled out 300 or more for the hair.. So yes, shipping is a big deal for me lol. Overall, I like the hair a lot. If you check my previous post you will see that I got my ombre’ done about two weeks ago and I love the hair even more.

In my last post I said I had finally decided on what color I wanted for my ombre’ and I got it done today. I love it! I have never really played around with hair colors before so I like that I tried something different with my hair this time. I think that my stylist did an amazing job getting the color to be almost identical to the shade Aaliyah has in the photo.

I am normally a play it safe type of person. I guess you can say that I am a bit boring lol. I never do anything out of the ordinary. One of those things being trying a different hair color. Since I am wearing extensions right now, this is all the more reason why I should try some color. I have decided to do an ombre’ effect on the ends of the hair. I am still having a hard time deciding on what color I want though. I feel like everyone does blonde and I want to stay sort of near light brown or I might even do a reddish color. *sigh* decisions, decisions…
Edited to say that I found my color!
Yes, Aaliyah’s hair was laid to perfection at all times. Honestly she is the first one I ever saw with ombre’ hair. This color is perfect for me. its not too much its just right. I am taking this pic to my stylist then booking my appointment :)

On Saturday I got my summer hair installed and I have to say my stylist really laid my hair! I have a net underneath for extra protection of my natural hair and I love how the braid base isn’t too tight but its perfectly secure. The hair I have in is from blogger Mia Ray’s hair line called Same Girl Different Hair. Back in December I purchased the Brazilian body wave hair from the same line and this time I have the Brazilian deep wave in 22, 18, and 20 inches.
